5. Installazione (configurazione)
Follow these steps to replace the snow thrower slide shoes. Always refer to your snow thrower's specific service manual for detailed instructions.
- Preparare lo spazzaneve: Turn off the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and ensure the machine is stable. Tilt the snow thrower back so the auger housing is accessible.
- Remove Old Slide Shoes: Locate the existing slide shoes on the sides of the auger housing. They are typically secured with bolts and nuts. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the nuts, then remove the old slide shoes. Note the orientation of the old shoes for correct installation of the new ones.
- Area di montaggio pulita: Pulire eventuali detriti, ruggine o ghiaccio dall'area di montaggio sull'alloggiamento della coclea.
- Install New Slide Shoes: Position a new slide shoe against the auger housing, aligning the bolt holes. Insert new carriage bolts (not included with this product) through the holes from the inside of the auger housing, then secure with nuts on the outside. Do not overtighten initially.
- Regola l'altezza: The slide shoes are adjustable to different clearing depths. Adjust both slide shoes to the desired height. For most operations, the shoes should be set to allow the scraper blade to clear snow without digging into the surface. Tighten all nuts securely once the desired height is achieved.
- Controllo finale: Ensure both slide shoes are securely fastened and set to the same height. Reconnect the spark plug wire.

6. Considerazioni operative
Properly installed slide shoes prevent the auger and auger housing from making direct contact with the ground, which can cause damage and premature wear. Adjust the slide shoes to suit the terrain and snow conditions:
- Paved Surfaces: Set the slide shoes to allow the scraper blade to ride just above the surface, ensuring a clean sweep without scraping the pavement.
- Gravel or Uneven Surfaces: Set the slide shoes higher to prevent the auger from picking up gravel or debris, which could damage the snow thrower or be thrown at high speed.
7. Manutenzione
Regular inspection and maintenance of your slide shoes are crucial for optimal snow thrower performance and longevity.
- Ispezionare regolarmente: Before each use, check the slide shoes for wear, bending, or damage. Replace them if they are significantly worn down or damaged.
- Pulire dopo l'uso: Remove any snow, ice, or debris from the slide shoes and mounting area after each use to prevent corrosion and ensure proper function.
- Controllare i dispositivi di fissaggio: Periodically check that the bolts and nuts securing the slide shoes are tight. Loose fasteners can lead to premature wear or loss of the shoes.
8. Risoluzione Dei Problemi
If you encounter issues related to the slide shoes, consider the following:
- Usura eccessiva: If slide shoes wear out quickly, check if they are set too low for the operating surface or if the snow thrower is being operated on abrasive surfaces frequently.
- Uneven Clearing: Ensure both slide shoes are adjusted to the same height. Uneven settings can cause the snow thrower to clear snow unevenly.
- Loose Shoes: If shoes become loose, tighten the mounting bolts and nuts. Consider using thread locker for added security if loosening persists.
