1. Introduzione

The Nady PM-200A is a powered personal stage monitor designed to provide musicians and performers with clear, localized audio monitoring on stage or during rehearsals. This unit features powerful amplification and a comprehensive set of controls, allowing users to customize their sound mix directly. Its compact and durable design makes it suitable for various performance environments.

The PM-200A is engineered to minimize feedback while enhancing the clarity of vocals and instruments within the overall mix. It offers flexible connectivity options for integration with main or monitor mixers, or for direct connection of instruments and microphones.

2. Caratteristiche principali

  • Personal Monitoring: Designed to deliver sound directly to the performer, reducing stage clutter and overall stagevolume.
  • Suono potente: Equipped with a pair of 5-inch Ferro-fluid drivers for clear, high SPL audio with low distortion and excellent feedback rejection.
  • Integrato Amplificatore: Features a 150W RMS internal amplifier capable of powering the internal drivers and up to four Nady PM-100 passive monitors via two external 1/4-inch speaker outputs.
  • Elevata potenza: Achieves up to 125dB SPL (Max) to ensure audibility in loud environments.
  • Posizionamento flessibile: Can be positioned at four different angles for optimal sound projection. Includes an integrated 5/8-inch socket for microphone stand mounting (adapter sold separately).
  • Ingressi versatili: Balanced XLR and 1/4-inch inputs accommodate a variety of audio sources.
  • Uscite multiple: Includes 1/4-inch line output for daisy-chaining or connecting to mixers/PAs, and a 1/4-inch headphone output for private monitoring.
  • Circuito di protezione: MOSFET circuitry with thermal, short circuit, and anti-thump on/off protection.

3. Guida all'installazione

3.1 Disimballaggio e ispezione iniziale

Carefully remove the PM-200A from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.

3.2 Posizionamento

Position the PM-200A in a location that provides optimal monitoring for the performer. The unit can be placed on a floor, keyboard, amplifier, or table. Its design allows for four different angled positions to direct sound effectively. For elevated monitoring, the integrated 5/8-inch socket allows mounting on a standard microphone stand (requires an optional adapter).

3.3 Collegamento di alimentazione

Before connecting the power cable, ensure the PM-200A's power switch is in the "OFF" position. Connect the provided AC power cable to the power inlet on the rear panel of the unit, then plug the other end into a suitable AC power outlet. The unit supports 115V/60Hz or 230V/50Hz operation; verify the voltagIl selettore è impostato correttamente per la tua regione.

4. Connessioni

The PM-200A offers a range of input and output options for flexible integration into any audio setup. Refer to the rear panel diagram below for connection points.

4.1 Ingressi

  • MIC Input (Balanced XLR): Connect a microphone directly to this input. The impedance is 2kΩ.
  • LINE Input (Balanced/Unbalanced 1/4" TRS): Connect a line-level signal from a main mixer, monitor mixer, instrument pre-amp, or other audio device. Impedance is 20kΩ (balanced) or 10kΩ (unbalanced).

4.2 Uscite

  • LINE OUT (Balanced XLR): Provides a balanced line-level output for daisy-chaining multiple PM-200A units or sending the mixed signal to a main PA system or recording device. Output impedance is 1.4kΩ.
  • HEADPHONES (1/4" TRS Stereo): Collega delle cuffie stereo per il monitoraggio privato.
  • EXTERNAL SPEAKERS (Two 1/4" Outputs): These outputs can power up to four Nady PM-100 passive monitors. Ensure the total impedance connected to these outputs is not less than 4Ω. The internal speakers can operate simultaneously or be disabled via the "Speaker Enable" switch.

5. Funzionamento

5.1 Accensione/Spegnimento

After all connections are made, switch the "POWER" toggle switch on the rear panel to the "ON" position. To power off, switch it to "OFF". It is recommended to power on the PM-200A after other audio equipment and power it off before other equipment to prevent "thump" noises.

5.2 Controllo del volume

The "VOLUME" knob adjusts the overall output level of the monitor. Start with the volume at a low setting and gradually increase it to a comfortable listening level.

5.3 Controlli di equalizzazione (EQ)

The PM-200A features three EQ knobs to shape the frequency response of your monitor mix:

  • HIGH (10kHz): Adjusts the treble frequencies. Turn clockwise to boost, counter-clockwise to cut.
  • MID (2.5kHz): Adjusts the mid-range frequencies, crucial for vocal and instrument clarity. Turn clockwise to boost, counter-clockwise to cut.
  • BASS (120Hz): Adjusts the low frequencies. Turn clockwise to boost, counter-clockwise to cut.

Each EQ control offers a range of ±12dB. Adjust these controls to tailor the sound to your preference and to reduce feedback in your environment.

5.4 Internal Speaker Enable Switch

The "INTERNAL SPEAKERS" switch allows you to enable or disable the internal 5-inch speakers. This is useful if you are only using the external speaker outputs to power passive monitors or if you prefer to monitor solely through headphones.

6. Risoluzione Dei Problemi

ProblemaPossibile causaSoluzione
Nessuna uscita audio
  • L'interruttore di alimentazione è spento.
  • La manopola del volume è impostata troppo bassa.
  • Input cable is disconnected or faulty.
