4. Impostazione

4.1 Collegamento di alimentazione

Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a suitable electrical outlet. Insert the foot controller plug into the machine's foot controller jack.

4.2 Avvolgimento della bobina

6. Press the foot controller to start winding. The bobbin will stop automatically when full.
7. Cut the thread and return the bobbin winder spindle to the left.

Open the bobbin cover plate. Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise). Guide the thread through the tension spring and out the bobbin case opening. Close the bobbin cover plate.

4. Bring the thread down through the right channel, around the tension dial, and up through the left channel.

5. Funzionamento della macchina

5.1 Selezione di un punto

The SINGER PROMISE 1408 offers 14 built-in stitch functions. To select a stitch, turn the Selettore del punto to the desired stitch pattern. The dial clearly indicates various stitch types, including straight stitches, zigzag stitches, and decorative patterns.

The thread tension dial controls the balance between the upper and lower threads. For most general sewing, a setting between 3 and 5 is suitable. Adjust as needed to achieve balanced stitches.

The SINGER PROMISE 1408 features a 4-step buttonhole process. Refer to the markings on the stitch selector dial for each step (1, 2, 3, 4). You will need to use the specific buttonhole presser foot provided with your machine.

1. Montare il piedino per asole.

3. Set the stitch selector to the first buttonhole step (usually a zigzag stitch for the side).

6. Manutenzione

6.2 Lubrificazione
