- Ensure the drill driver is turned off and the forward/reverse selector is in the center (locked) position.
- Align the ribs on the battery pack with the grooves in the drill driver's battery port.

- To remove, press the battery release latches (if present) and slide the battery pack out.

- Ensure the drill driver is turned off and the forward/reverse selector is in the center (locked) position.
- Grasp the front half of the chuck and rotate it counter-clockwise to open the chuck jaws.

- Rotate the front half of the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the bit. Hand-tighten only; do not use tools to tighten the chuck.

- Rotate the torque adjustment collar to select the desired torque setting. Lower numbers are for driving small screws or into soft materials. Higher numbers are for driving larger screws or into harder materials.
- The drill driver also has a drill mode setting (indicated by a drill bit icon) for drilling applications, which provides maximum torque.

- Apply light, steady pressure. Do not force the drill.
- For metal drilling, use a center punch to mark the hole location and apply cutting oil to the drill bit.
