The Gaggia GranGaggia Style manual espresso machine is designed for preparing authentic Italian espresso with ease. This compact and functional appliance can be used with either ground coffee or pre-packaged coffee pods. It features a patented 'Crema Perfect' pressure filter holder, which helps achieve consistent and rich crema, regardless of user experience. The integrated classic milk frother provides steam for emulsifying milk for cappuccinos and lattes, or dispenses hot water for teas and herbal infusions. For simplified maintenance, both the water reservoir and the drip tray are easily removable.

3. Impostazione

3.1 Disimballaggio

Carefully remove the espresso machine and all its components from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage. Remove any protective films or stickers from the appliance.

3.2 Pulizia iniziale

Before first use, wash all removable parts, including the water tank, portafilter, and filters, with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

3.3 Posizionamento della Macchina

Place the machine on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, away from water splashes and heat sources. Ensure adequate space around the machine for ventilation and access to the water tank and drip tray.

Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold drinking water up to the 'MAX' level indicator. Do not use sparkling water or other liquids. Reinsert the water tank securely into its position.

3.5 Priming the System (First Use)

  1. Assicurarsi che il serbatoio dell'acqua sia pieno.

  3. Turn on the machine using the power button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Place a container under the steam wand. Turn the steam knob to the open position.
  5. Press the coffee button to pump water through the steam wand until water flows out. Close the steam knob.
  6. Place a container under the coffee dispenser. Press the coffee button again to pump water through the dispenser until water flows out. Press the coffee button again to stop.

4. Istruzioni per l'uso

4.1 Preparazione dell'espresso con caffè macinato

  2. Select the appropriate filter for 1 or 2 cups of ground coffee and place it into the portafilter.
  3. Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter. For a single shot, use approximately 7 grams; for a double shot, use approximately 14 grams. Level the coffee and tamp it lightly with a tampeh.

  5. Attach the portafilter to the group head by aligning it and turning it firmly to the right until it is secure.

  7. Press the coffee button to start brewing. The machine will dispense espresso.
  8. Press the coffee button again to stop the flow when the desired volume is reached.
  9. Carefully remove the portafilter, discard the used coffee grounds, and rinse the filter and portafilter.

4.2 Making Espresso with Coffee Pods

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is powered on and preheated.
  2. Insert the single-serve pod filter with its adapter into the portafilter.
  3. Place one coffee pod into the filter, ensuring it lies flat.
  4. Attach the portafilter to the group head by aligning it and turning it firmly to the right until it is secure.
  5. Place an espresso cup under the portafilter spout.
  6. Press the coffee button to start brewing.
  7. Press the coffee button again to stop the flow when the desired volume is reached.
  8. Carefully remove the portafilter, discard the used pod, and rinse the filter and portafilter.

4.3 Latte fumante

  1. Assicurarsi che il serbatoio dell'acqua sia pieno.
  2. Press the steam button. The steam indicator light will blink and then become solid when the machine reaches the correct temperature for steaming.
  3. Fill a stainless steel pitcher with cold milk (approximately 1/3 full).
  4. Position the pitcher under the steam wand and immerse the tip of the wand just below the surface of the milk.

Descale your machine periodically, typically every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines and follow the product's instructions carefully. Always rinse the machine thoroughly after descaling by running several cycles of fresh water.

5.4 Pulizia esterna
