Introduzione

The SEBSON GS536GC photoelectric smoke detector is designed to provide early warning of dangerous smoke development. This device is certified according to DIN EN 14604 standards, ensuring reliable performance. Upon detecting smoke, the alarm emits a loud sound to alert occupants. The detector also features a self-test function and a low battery warning system for continuous safety monitoring.

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installation and use. Failure to do so may result in improper operation and potential hazards.

• Non dipingere: Never paint the smoke detector. Paint can clog the sensing chambers and prevent the unit from operating correctly.
• Test regolari: Test the smoke detector weekly to ensure it is functioning properly.
• Sostituzione della batteria: Replace the battery immediately when the low battery warning sounds. Although the included battery has a 5-year life, individual battery performance may vary.

Configurazione e installazione

Proper installation is crucial for the effective operation of your smoke detector.

1. Scelta del luogo di installazione

Install smoke detectors on the ceiling in the center of the room, or at least 50 cm (20 inches) from any wall. Avoid installing in:

• Cucine, bagni o garage in cui i fumi di cottura, il vapore o gli scarichi possono causare falsi allarmi.
• Near ventilation openings, air conditioners, or fans, as air currents can prevent smoke from reaching the detector.
• Areas with high humidity or extreme temperatures (outside 0°C to +37°C).

2. Installazione della batteria

1. Remove the mounting bracket from the smoke detector by twisting it counter-clockwise.
2. Insert the provided 9V DC block battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. The detector will emit a short beep to indicate successful battery installation.

3. Montaggio del rilevatore

You can mount the detector using the included screws or an appropriate adhesive (not included).

   • Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it locks securely in place.
2. Adhesive Mounting (Optional, not recommended for all surfaces):
   • Ensure the ceiling surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
   • Apply a suitable adhesive (e.g., double-sided adhesive pad, not included) to the back of the mounting bracket.
   • Press the bracket firmly onto the desired ceiling location for at least 30 seconds.
   • Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it locks securely in place.

Istruzioni per l'uso

Funzionamento normale

Once installed with a fresh battery, the smoke detector will enter normal operating mode. A short flash of the LED indicator every 32 seconds confirms that the unit is powered on and performing its self-test function.

Testare il rivelatore

To manually test the smoke detector, press and hold the central test button for approximately 5 seconds. The alarm will sound loudly, and the LED will flash rapidly. Release the button to stop the alarm. This test verifies the battery, alarm, and sensing circuitry are working correctly.

Segnale di allarme

When smoke is detected, the alarm will emit a loud, continuous sound (≥ 85 dB at 3 meters) and the LED will flash rapidly. In case of an alarm, evacuate the premises immediately and contact emergency services.

Avviso di batteria scarica

When the battery is low, the detector will emit a short chirp approximately every 30-40 seconds, accompanied by a brief LED flash. This indicates that the battery needs to be replaced immediately.

Manutenzione

Regular maintenance ensures the continued reliability of your smoke detector.

• Test settimanale: Press the test button weekly to confirm the alarm is functioning.
• Pulizia mensile: Gently vacuum the exterior of the smoke detector with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and cobwebs. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.
• Sostituzione della batteria: Replace the 9V alkaline battery when the low battery warning sounds. Although the battery has a 5-year life, it is replaceable. Always use a fresh, high-quality 9V alkaline battery.
