4. Installation Precautions and Procedure
Proper installation is critical for the performance and longevity of the power steering pump. It is highly recommended to consult your vehicle's specific shop manual for detailed instructions or seek assistance from a qualified mechanic if you lack the necessary skills.

4.1. Preinstallazione
- Drain the previous power steering fluid completely before installing the new pump.
- Replace with recommended fluid by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
4.2. Exhaust Steps (After Installation)
After installing the power steering pump, the system requires proper fluid exhaust (bleeding) to remove air. Follow these steps:
- Fill the reservoir with clean steering fluid up to the maximum level.
- Lift the vehicle so that the front axle is not under load (wheels are off the ground).
- With the engine off, turn the steering wheel slowly from one extreme to the other (twice).
- Refill the reservoir with clean steering fluid up to the maximum level.
- To prevent air intake, start the engine and add clean steering fluid to the reservoir at the same time.
- Turn the steering wheel slowly from one side to the other (repeat 10-15 times). NON fare hold the steering wheel at the extreme positions for more than 5 seconds. NON fare turn the wheel sharply at the extreme positions, which may cause foam in the fluid. Repeat the above steps until no bubbles appear.
- Fill the reservoir with clean steering fluid up to the maximum level and replace the reservoir cap tightly.
- Check the steering system to avoid leaks.
- Shut off the engine. After shutting off the engine, the fluid level in the reservoir should rise. Check if the fluid level exceeds the maximum mark. If the fluid level exceeds the maximum mark by 5mm, try to repeat the exhaust process.
- Vehicle driving (check the fluid level before and after driving).
- While the engine is running, add clean steering fluid to the reservoir up to the maximum level.
These procedures help prevent potential issues after installing a new power steering pump. Replacing a power steering pump is a complex and time-consuming process. If the installation skills and tools are not available, professional assistance is strongly recommended.
5. Principi di funzionamento e caratteristiche
The A-Premium Power Steering Pump is engineered for reliable operation, providing consistent hydraulic pressure to the steering system.

The pump effectively reduces the force required to operate the steering wheel, contributing to sensitive response, smooth steering, accurate control, and overall safe and reliable vehicle operation.
5.5. Prevenzione delle perdite

Image 8: Diagram showing the internal sealing ring designed to prevent fluid leakage under high-pressure conditions.
The sealing ring is strategically installed inside the pump to prevent fluid leakage, even under high-pressure operating environments.
6. Manutenzione
Regular maintenance of your power steering system is crucial for optimal performance and longevity. This includes:
- Controllo del livello del fluido: Periodically check the power steering fluid level and top up as necessary with the OEM-recommended fluid.
- Condizione del fluido: Inspect the fluid for discoloration or metal flakes, which can indicate internal wear. If the fluid is dark or contains debris, a system flush and fluid replacement may be necessary.
- Ispezione delle perdite: Regularly check for any signs of fluid leaks around the pump, hoses, and steering rack. Address any leaks promptly.
- Hose and Belt Inspection: Ensure all power steering hoses are in good condition, free from cracks or hardening. Check the drive belt for proper tension and wear.
7. Risoluzione dei problemi comuni
This power steering pump is designed to resolve common issues associated with a failing pump. If you experience any of the following, consider inspecting your power steering system:
- Steering Fluid Leaks: Visible fluid drips or puddles under the vehicle, especially near the pump or hoses.
- Squealing Noise When Steering: A high-pitched noise, particularly when turning the steering wheel, often indicates low fluid, air in the system, or a failing pump.
- Heavy and Jerky Steering: Increased effort required to turn the steering wheel, or inconsistent steering feel.
- Metal Flakes in the Fluid: Inspecting the power steering fluid for metallic particles can indicate internal wear of the pump or other components.
- Power Steering Symbol on Dashboard: An illuminated warning light indicating a power steering system malfunction.
For any persistent issues, it is recommended to consult a qualified automotive technician.
