4.1 Registrazione

Before using your ResQLink View RLS, it is mandatory to register the beacon with the appropriate national authority (e.g., NOAA in the United States). Registration ensures that search and rescue personnel have access to your emergency contact information, vessel details, and medical history, which is crucial for an effective rescue operation. Failure to register may delay or prevent rescue.

  1. Visit the official registration website for your country (e.g., www.beaconregistration.noaa.gov for U.S. users).
  2. Follow the instructions to complete the registration form, providing all requested details about yourself and the beacon.
  3. Keep your registration information updated, especially if your contact details or travel plans change.

4.2 Informazioni sulla batteria

Il collegamento ResQ View RLS comes with two Lithium Metal batteries included and installed. These batteries provide a 5-year operational life. Do not attempt to replace the batteries yourself, as this must be done by an authorized service center to maintain the unit's waterproof integrity and warranty.

4.3 Initial Setup and Attachment

Attach the beacon securely to your person or gear using the provided clips or strap. Ensure it is easily accessible in an emergency. Common attachment points include life vests, belts, or backpack straps.

5.1 Activating the Beacon (Emergency Use Only)

Il collegamento ResQ View RLS is for use in situations of grave and imminent danger only. False alarms can divert critical resources. To activate:

  1. Deploy the antenna by pulling it upwards.
  2. Slide the protective cover away from the activation button.
  3. Press and hold the red ON button for approximately 1 second until the beacon activates. The digital display will show activation status.
  4. Position the beacon with a clear view of the sky to optimize GPS signal acquisition and transmission.

5.2 Return Link Service (RLS)

The RLS feature provides peace of mind by confirming that your distress message has been received. Once activated, the beacon will attempt to receive a return link message from the Cospas-Sarsat system. A specific message on the digital display will indicate successful RLS confirmation.
