5. Funzionamento

5.1 Accensione

Once all connections are secure, power on your openGear frame. The BirdDog OG4 card will initialize. Observe the status indicators on the card for proper boot-up.

5.2 Accessing the Dashboard

The BirdDog OG4 is managed via the openGear Dashboard software. This software allows for comprehensive configuration and monitoring of the card's NDI encoding/decoding functions, SDI settings, and network parameters.

  1. Ensure your computer is on the same network as the openGear frame.
  2. Launch the openGear Dashboard software.
  3. The OG4 card should appear in the device list. Select the card to access its configuration interface.

5.3 NDI Configuration

Within the Dashboard, you can configure each of the four SDI channels independently:

  • Modalità encoder: Convert incoming SDI signals to NDI streams. Configure NDI stream names, bandwidth settings, and audio channels.
  • Modalità decodificatore: Convert incoming NDI streams from the network back to SDI signals. Select the desired NDI source from your network.
  • Passaggio attraverso: Some configurations may allow for SDI loop-through while encoding. Refer to the Dashboard interface for specific options.

For detailed NDI settings and advanced features, consult the openGear Dashboard user guide or BirdDog's official documentation.
