5. Configurazione e installazione

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance of your Quattro LNB. This LNB is designed for use with a multi-switch system.

5.1 Precauzioni di sicurezza

  • Always disconnect power to all associated equipment before installation.
  • Exercise caution when working at heights. Use appropriate safety gear.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and weather-sealed to prevent moisture ingress.

5.2 Mounting the LNB

  1. Ensure your parabolic antenna is securely mounted and correctly aligned to the desired satellite.
  2. Insert the Triax TQT 400 Gold LNB into the 40 mm feed support clamp of your satellite dish.
  3. Adjust the LNB's skew (rotation) as required for your geographical location to maximize signal quality. Secure the LNB firmly in the clamp once adjusted.

5.3 Connecting to a Multi-Switch

The Quattro LNB has four outputs, each carrying a specific band and polarization combination (High/Vertical, High/Horizontal, Low/Vertical, Low/Horizontal). These outputs must be connected to the corresponding inputs on a compatible multi-switch.

  1. Identify the four output ports on the LNB. They are typically labeled (e.g., HIGH/V, HIGH/H, LOW/V, LOW/H).
  2. Using high-quality coaxial cables with F-connectors, connect each LNB output to the corresponding input on your multi-switch. Ensure the connections are tight and secure.
  3. It is recommended to use weather-sealing boots or self-amalgamating tape over the F-connections to protect them from moisture.
  4. Connect the multi-switch outputs to your satellite receivers.

6. Funzionamento

Once installed and connected to a multi-switch and satellite receiver, the Triax TQT 400 Gold LNB operates automatically. It converts the high-frequency satellite signals received by the dish into lower-frequency signals that can be transmitted through coaxial cables to the multi-switch and then to your satellite receiver(s).

The LNB receives signals across the 10.7 - 12.75 GHz frequency range and uses local oscillators at 9.75 GHz and 10.60 GHz to down-convert these signals. Your satellite receiver will then process these signals to display television channels and other satellite services.

7. Manutenzione

The Triax TQT 400 Gold LNB is designed for minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks can help ensure continued optimal performance:

  • Ispezione visiva: Annually inspect the LNB and its connections for any signs of physical damage, corrosion, or loose cables.
  • Pulizia: Ensure the LNB's feedhorn (the part facing the dish) is free from dirt, debris, snow, or ice, which can obstruct signals. Use a soft, damp cloth if cleaning is necessary. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Integrità della connessione: Verify that all F-connectors are tight and that any weather-sealing is intact.

8. Risoluzione Dei Problemi

If you experience issues with your satellite reception, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Nessun segnale / Segnale debole:
    • Check all cable connections from the LNB to the multi-switch and from the multi-switch to the receiver. Ensure they are secure and not damaged.
    • Verify that the satellite dish is correctly aligned to the satellite. Even slight movements can affect signal quality.
    • Ensure the LNB's skew (rotation) is correctly set.
    • Check for any obstructions in the line of sight between the dish and the satellite (e.g., new trees, buildings).
    • Inspect the LNB for visible damage.
  • Segnale intermittente:
    • This can often be caused by loose connections or degraded cabling. Re-tighten all F-connectors and inspect cables for wear.
    • Check for water ingress at connections. Re-seal if necessary.
  • Blocco o pixelizzazione dell'immagine:
    • This indicates a weak or noisy signal. Re-check dish alignment and LNB skew.
    • Ensure there are no sources of electromagnetic interference near the LNB or cables.

If problems persist after performing these checks, consult a qualified satellite technician.
