Introduzione

Thank you for choosing the Penn-Plax Cascade 1200 Aquarium Canister Filter. This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your new filter. Informazioni sulla sicurezza

WARNING: To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken when handling aquarium equipment. Read and follow all safety instructions before use.

  • Always unplug all appliances in the aquarium before placing hands in the water or performing maintenance.
  • Ensure the filter is placed on a sturdy, level surface below the aquarium water level to allow for proper siphoning.
  • Non utilizzare il filtro se il cavo di alimentazione o la spina sono danneggiati.
  • Never attempt to repair the filter yourself; refer to qualified service personnel.
  • Ensure a drip loop is formed for all power cords to prevent water from traveling along the cord and reaching the electrical outlet.

  1. Accensione: Once the filter is primed and no leaks are detected, plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The filter should start operating immediately.

  3. Funzionamento continuo: For optimal water quality, the Cascade 1200 Canister Filter should operate continuously.

Manutenzione

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of your filter and the health of your aquarium.

  1. Settimanale/Bisettimanale:
    • Check water flow. Reduced flow may indicate clogged media.
    • Controllare che i tubi flessibili non siano piegati o ostruiti.
  2. Monthly/Bi-Monthly (or as needed):
    • Scollegare l'alimentazione: Scollegare il filtro dalla presa elettrica.
    • Chiudere le valvole: Turn the flow rate control cut-off valves to the closed position to prevent water from siphoning out of the aquarium.
    • Rimuovere la testa del filtro: Release the four easy-lift alignment clamps and carefully lift the filter head.
    • Supporti puliti:
      • Rinse Poly Fiber Floss Pads and Coarse Bio-Sponge in old aquarium water (from a water change) to preserve beneficial bacteria. Replace floss pads when heavily soiled (e.g., Penn-Plax Cascade Bio-Floss Replacement Poly Fiber Floss Pads, model CCF331).
      • Replace Activated Carbon every 2-4 weeks, as its adsorptive capacity diminishes over time.
      • Clean the impeller and impeller housing.
