4. Configurazione (installazione)

WARNING: Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before installation to prevent electric shock.

4.1 Identifying Wires

Before beginning installation, identify the wires in your wallbox. Use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm wires are de-energized.

  • Filo di linea (caldo): Typically black, this wire carries live current from the circuit breaker. It will beep with a voltage tester when power is on.
  • Cavo di carico: Typically black, this wire connects to the light fixture.
  • Filo neutro: Typically white, this wire completes the circuit.
  • Filo di terra: Typically green or bare copper, this wire provides a safety path for electricity.
  • Traveler Wires: (For 3-way setups) These wires connect two switches controlling the same light.

4.2 Cablaggio unipolare

  1. Turn off the power to the circuit at the circuit breaker. Verify power is off by attempting to turn on devices connected to the circuit.
  2. Disassemble the plate and frame of the existing switch.
  3. Disconnect wires from the traditional switch.
  4. Connect the ground wire (green wire) from the Aqara switch to the ground wire in the wallbox using a wire nut.
  5. If present, remove the wire nut from the neutral wire bundle in the wallbox. Take the N (white wire) from the Aqara switch, line up all ends of wires, and twist them together. Trim the ends if necessary and twist on the wire nut tightly.
  6. Connect the L (black wire) from the Aqara switch to the Line wire in the wallbox. Twist on a wire nut tightly.
  7. Connect the L1 (brown wire) from the Aqara switch to the Load wire in the wallbox. Twist on a wire nut tightly.
  8. Cap any unused wires (e.g., TW blue wire for single-pole) with a wire nut.
  9. Give all wires a final tug to ensure a secure connection.
  10. Carefully push the Aqara switch into the wallbox and screw it into place.
  11. Screw the frame onto the wallbox, then snap on the plate to finish.
  12. Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. Test the switch by switching it on and off via the top button.

4.3 3-Way Wiring (Light Outside Two Switches)

*Note: Only the Light Switch H2 US (2 Buttons, 1 Channel) supports 3-way wiring. This manual focuses on the 3-Channel version (WS-K04E), which does not support 3-way wiring. Please refer to the specific manual for the 2-Button, 1-Channel version if 3-way wiring is required.

4.4 Adding the Device to the App (Matter over Thread)

  1. After initial powering-on, the device will send a reset status, so no need for reset during first-time device adding.
  2. Double-press any button on the switch, then press and hold for more than 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks green, which means the reset is successful.
  3. Open your Matter-compatible app (e.g., Aqara Home, Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home).
  4. Scan the Matter QR setup code on the device or user manual, or enter the numeric setup code printed on the manual or the device.
  5. Segui le istruzioni visualizzate sullo schermo dell'app per completare il processo di abbinamento.

4.5 Thread/Zigbee Protocol Switching

The Aqara Smart Light Switch H2 supports both Thread and Zigbee protocols. You can switch between these modes based on your preferences and ecosystem setup.

  • To Switch from Thread to Zigbee Protocol: Reset the device to factory settings (press any button 10 times) and ensure it's in networking mode (slow-blinking LED). Open the Aqara Home app, tap "Add Accessory", keep the phone close to the device, and wait for it to show on the discovery section of the app. Tap the icon > "Switch Protocol" > select "Zigbee". Proceed following the app's instructions.
  • To Switch from Zigbee to Thread Protocol: If you want to switch back to Thread Mode, factory reset the device and re-add using the Aqara Home app.

5. Operativo

5.1 Controllo di base On/Off

Press any of the physical buttons on the switch to toggle the connected lights on or off. The LED indicator will reflect the current status.

5.2 Decoupled Switch Mode

In Decoupled Switch Mode, the physical upper buttons can be configured to act as wireless triggers for scenes or automations within your smart home system, without directly controlling the electrical relay. This ensures that the light remains controllable via app/automation/voice commands, unaffected by physical button presses.

5.3 Monitoraggio dell'alimentazione

When connected with a neutral wire, the switch can monitor power consumption. Access the Aqara Home app to view detailed energy data and charts by day, week, or year. This feature helps track usage and provides insights for energy-saving plans.

5.4 Power-Off Memory Mode

This feature ensures that your connected appliance retains its last settings after a power outage, automatically resuming operation as it was (either on or off). You can customize its behavior in the Aqara Home app to restore previous settings, always power on, always power off, or even reverse the previous state.

5.5 Custom Press Mode

For the wireless switch buttons (lower buttons), you can configure different actions for single-press, double-press, and long-press events. This expands the automation possibilities within your smart home system.

5.6 Indicator Light Reversed

The configurable LED indicator light can be reversed. This means when the relay is turned off, the indicator light turns on, and vice versa. This feature can be useful for locating the switch in the dark.

5.7 MARS Tech

MARS Tech (Aqara Smart Load) keeps your Aqara smart lights constantly powered, ensuring the light remains online even if the switch is accidentally turned off. The LED indicator light on the smart switch stays synchronized with the on/off status of the smart light and app, ensuring consistent status across all devices.

6. Manutenzione

  • Pulizia: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the switch. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Aggiornamenti del firmware: Controlla e installa regolarmente gli aggiornamenti del firmware tramite l'app Aqara Home per garantire prestazioni ottimali e l'accesso alle nuove funzionalità.

7. Risoluzione Dei Problemi

  • L'interruttore non risponde: Ensure the device is properly powered and connected to your smart home hub/controller. Check the LED indicator for status. Try resetting the device if issues persist.
  • Problemi di connettività: Verify your Wi-Fi network is stable and your smart home hub/controller is online. Ensure the switch is within range of the hub/controller or a Thread Border Router.
  • Features Unavailable: Some advanced features like power monitoring and overload protection require neutral wiring. Ensure your installation meets these requirements. Full functionality is best achieved in Zigbee mode with an Aqara hub.
  • Lag in Automation: If experiencing delays, ensure the switch firmware is updated. Connecting to neutral wiring can significantly reduce latency for automations.
