4. Configurazione e installazione

The DAYTECH AJ-762 smoke detector offers two installation methods: magnetic mounting for quick, drill-free setup, and traditional screw mounting for a more permanent fixture.

4.1 Scelta del luogo di installazione

For optimal smoke detection, install the detector in the center of the ceiling in each room. Avoid installing near air vents, windows, or in areas with high humidity (e.g., bathrooms) or extreme temperatures.

4.2 Magnetic Mounting (Drill-Free)

1. Pulisci la superficie: Ensure the ceiling surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
2. Applicare i cuscinetti adesivi: Peel the protective film from the 3M adhesive pads and firmly attach them to the magnetic mounting plate.
3. Montare la piastra: Peel the remaining protective film from the adhesive pads on the magnetic plate and press the plate firmly onto the chosen ceiling location for at least 30 seconds.

4.3 Screw Mounting (Traditional)

1. Segnare i fori di perforazione: Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark two drill holes on the ceiling.

4.4 Post-Installation Test

After installation, always perform a test to ensure the detector is functioning correctly. Refer to section 5.1 for testing instructions.

5.1 Testing the Smoke Detector

It is recommended to test your smoke detector at least once a month to ensure it is working properly.

1. Press and hold the test/silence button located on the center of the detector for approximately 2 seconds.
2. The detector will emit a loud alarm sound (85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash red.
3. Release the button. The alarm will stop, and the LED will return to its normal operating state (flashing every 50 seconds).

5.2 Funzione silenzio

In caso di allarme non di emergenza (ad esempio, fumi di cottura), è possibile silenziare temporaneamente l'allarme:

• Premere una volta il pulsante di prova/tacitazione.
• The alarm will be silenced for approximately 10 minutes. The red LED will flash every 10 seconds to indicate it is in silence mode.

• If the smoke clears, the detector will return to normal operation.

5.3 Avviso di batteria scarica

The detector is equipped with a 10-year sealed lithium battery. When the battery is nearing the end of its life, the detector will emit a short chirp every 50 seconds, accompanied by a red LED flash. This indicates that the unit needs to be replaced. This alert will continue for approximately 30 days before the battery is fully depleted.

6. Manutenzione

• Test mensile: Test the smoke detector monthly using the test/silence button.
• Pulizia: Dust can accumulate on the detector and affect its performance. Gently vacuum the exterior of the detector with a soft brush attachment at least once a year. Do not use water or cleaning solvents.
• Non smontare: Do not attempt to open the smoke detector. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
