Installing the Car Seat Base:

1. Place the car seat base on the vehicle seat in a rear-facing position. Ensure it is level.
2. Route the vehicle's lap belt or LATCH system through the designated belt path on the base.
3. Engage the vehicle belt lock-off mechanism to secure the base tightly. The base should not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

4. Verify the recline angle using the built-in recline indicator on the base. The indicator should be within the acceptable range for your infant's weight.

Attaching the Infant Carrier to the Base:

1. Align the infant carrier with the base.
