1. Introduzione
The PEAKMETER PM6708 is a compact and lightweight digital sound level meter designed for accurate audio decibel monitoring. It converts ambient sound into electrical signals, processes the data, and displays results on an LCD. This device is suitable for monitoring noise levels in various environments such as hotels, conference halls, home theaters, and hospitals.
Key features include A and C weighted network selection, a clear LCD with backlight for low-light conditions, and an integrated sponge ball to filter out unwanted signals, ensuring precise measurements.

- Sensore: Located at the top, responsible for detecting sound waves.
- Sponge Cover: Placed over the sensor to reduce wind noise and filter unwanted signals.
- Schermo LCD: Shows measurement readings, settings, and battery status.
- Tasti funzione: Buttons for controlling various settings and modes of the device.
3. Impostazione
3.2 Attaching the Sponge Cover
Gently slide the provided sponge cover over the microphone sensor at the top of the device. This helps to minimize wind interference and improve measurement accuracy.

4. Istruzioni per l'uso
4.1 Accensione/spegnimento
- Ensure the device is powered on and the sponge cover is attached.
- Hold the meter in the area where you wish to measure sound levels. Ensure the microphone is pointed towards the sound source.
- The current sound level in decibels (dB) will be displayed on the LCD screen.

4.3 A/C Weighting Selection
The device offers two frequency weighting characteristics:
- A-Weighting (dBA): Mimics the human ear's response to sound. It is commonly used for environmental noise measurements and occupational health assessments.
- C-Weighting (dBC): Provides a flatter response, measuring the true sound pressure level across a wider frequency range. It is often used for measuring peak noise levels or for analyzing low-frequency noise.
To switch between A and C weighting, press the Pulsante A/C. The selected weighting will be indicated on the LCD.
4.4 FAST/SLOW Response Time
The PM6708 allows selection between two dynamic characteristics for sound pressure measurement:
- VELOCE (125 ms): Adatto per misurare livelli di rumore in rapida variazione.
- SLOW (1sec): Ideal for measuring average noise levels or when the sound level is relatively stable.
Premere il tasto Tasto VELOCE/LENTO to toggle between these response times.
4.5 MAX Data Hold
To capture and display the maximum sound level recorded during a measurement session:
- Durante la misurazione, premere il tasto Pulsante MAX. The display will hold the highest decibel reading.
- Premere il tasto Pulsante MAX again to exit MAX hold mode and resume real-time measurement.
4.6 Funzione di retroilluminazione
For improved visibility in low-light conditions, press the Pulsante di retroilluminazione (often indicated by a light bulb icon) to activate the LCD backlight. Press it again to turn off the backlight.
5. Manutenzione
5.1 Pulizia del dispositivo
Wipe the exterior of the sound level meter with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the casing or display. Ensure no moisture enters the device.
5.2 Sponge Cover Care
The sponge cover helps filter unwanted signals. Periodically inspect it for wear or damage. If it becomes dirty, gently remove it and clean it with mild soap and water, then allow it to air dry completely before reattaching. Replace if significantly damaged.
5.3 Sostituzione della batteria
When the low battery indicator appears on the LCD, replace all four AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings and continuous operation. Refer to Section 3.1 for battery installation instructions.
5.4 Conservazione
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided black bag for protection.
6. Risoluzione Dei Problemi
- Letture imprecise: Ensure the sponge cover is clean and properly attached. Verify that the correct A/C weighting and FAST/SLOW response settings are selected for your application. Avoid measuring in strong electromagnetic fields.
- Il display è scuro o tremolante: Replace batteries. If the issue persists, the backlight may be faulty.
- Nessuna visualizzazione: Check battery installation and charge. If the problem continues, contact customer support.
