3.1 Connecting the Device to Your Vehicle
The ANCEL FX6100 connects to your vehicle via the OBDII port, also known as the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Locate the DLC: The DLC is typically a 16-pin port. In most vehicles, it is located within 12 inches of the center of the dashboard, under or around the driver's side. If not under the dashboard, a label may indicate its location. In some Asian and European vehicles, the DLC might be behind the ashtray, requiring its removal. Refer to your vehicle's service manual if you cannot find the DLC.
- Turn the Vehicle Ignition On: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is turned to the ON position. It is not necessary to start the engine.
