3. Descaling Procedure (Operating Instructions)

The descaling process may vary slightly depending on your specific Gaggia espresso machine model. Always refer to your machine's user manual for precise instructions. The following steps provide a general guideline for using the Gaggia Decalcifier.

Preparazione:

1. Ensure the machine is turned off and cooled down.
2. Empty the water tank, drip tray, and coffee grounds container.
3. Remove any water filters from the water tank.
4. Place a large heat-resistant container (at least 1 liter capacity) under the coffee spout and steam/hot water wand to collect the descaling solution.

Applying the Solution:

1. Empty and thoroughly rinse the water tank with fresh water.
2. Fill the water tank with fresh tap water up to the maximum level.
3. Place the large collection container back under the spouts.
4. Run several full tanks of fresh water through the machine, dispensing through both the coffee spout and the steam/hot water wand, until the water runs clear and there is no residual taste or smell of the descaler. This may require 2-3 full tanks of water.
