- Align the chosen attachment (paddle or belt loop) with the corresponding holes on the back of the holster.
- Secure the attachment using the provided screws and hardware. Ensure all screws are tightened firmly to prevent movement during use.
- If using the belt loop attachment, you can adjust the cant (angle) of the holster. Loosen the screws, set the desired angle, and re-tighten securely.

2.2. Adjusting for Firearm Fit
The Model 578 Pro-Fit holster is designed to accommodate a wide variety of pistols. To adjust the fit for your specific firearm:
- Locate the adjustment screw on the side of the holster body.
- Use an appropriate tool (e.g., a Phillips head screwdriver) to loosen or tighten this screw.
- Insert your firearm into the holster. Adjust the screw until your firearm is securely held without excessive play, yet allows for a smooth draw.
- If your pistol has a slim trigger guard, a shim may be included or required to achieve optimal fit and retention. Refer to the product packaging or Safariland resources for specific shim instructions.

3. Operating the Holster
3.1. Holstering the Firearm
With the holster securely attached to your belt or paddle, carefully insert your firearm into the holster. The GLS (Grip Lock System) will automatically engage, securing the weapon in place. A distinct 'click' indicates proper retention.

3.2. Drawing the Firearm
To draw your firearm:
- Establish a standard shooting grip on your firearm.
- As your middle finger naturally aligns with the GLS lever, depress the lever firmly. This action releases the firearm.
- Execute a smooth, unhindered draw from the holster.
- For models with SLS (Self Locking System) Rotating Hood (Level III Retention): Rotate the hood forward with your thumb before depressing the GLS lever with your middle finger.
4. Manutenzione
4.1. Pulizia
The SafariSeven material is designed for easy maintenance. To clean your holster:
- Use mild soap and water to clean the holster.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the material or finish.
- Periodically inspect the holster's interior for any accumulated dirt or debris. The raised stand-off surfaces are designed to create air space, allowing dirt and moisture to clear. Ensure these channels remain unobstructed.
4.2. Temperature and Water Exposure
- The SafariSeven material is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, structurally sound from 300°F to -50°F. However, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat sources should be avoided to preserve the holster's integrity.
- The holster can be submerged in water indefinitely without losing its shape or function. After water exposure, allow the holster to air dry completely before re-holstering a firearm.
5. Risoluzione Dei Problemi
- Firearm Fit Issues: If the firearm feels too loose or too tight, re-adjust the tension screw as described in the 'Setup' section. Ensure the correct shim (if applicable) is installed for your firearm model.
- Difficulty Drawing/Holstering: Verify that the GLS lever is being fully depressed with the middle finger during the draw. For SLS models, ensure the rotating hood is properly disengaged. Check for any obstructions inside the holster that might impede the firearm's movement.
- Optic Clearance: If using a firearm with a red dot sight or other optic, ensure the holster is adjusted to provide adequate clearance. Some firearms or optics may require specific holster configurations or minor modifications to the holster's upper portion for optimal fit.
- Surface Marks on Firearm: Minor smudges or marks on the firearm's finish, particularly on the slide edges near the muzzle, may occur due to friction with the holster material. These are typically superficial and can often be wiped away. The SafariSeven material is non-abrasive and designed to minimize wear.
