3. Installazione hardware
Follow these steps to install a 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD into the ZM-VE350 enclosure:
- Using the provided screwdriver, carefully remove the screws securing the enclosure's cover.
- Slide open the enclosure to reveal the internal SATA connector.
- Connect your 2.5-inch SATA I/II/III HDD or SSD to the internal SATA data and power connector. Ensure a firm connection.
- Secure the drive within the enclosure using the provided screws, if necessary, to prevent movement.
- Slide the enclosure cover back into place and secure it with the screws removed in step 1.

4. Connessione a un computer
Once your hard drive is installed, connect the ZM-VE350 to your computer:
- Connect one end of the supplied USB 3.0 cable to the USB 3.0 port on the ZM-VE350 enclosure.
- Connect the other end of the USB 3.0 cable to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer. For optimal performance, use a USB 3.0 port. The device is also compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, but at reduced speeds.
- The computer should automatically detect the ZM-VE350 as an external storage device. No additional drivers are typically required for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, Mac OS, or Linux.

5. Operating the Virtual ODD Function
The ZM-VE350 can emulate an optical disc drive (ODD) using ISO image files. This feature is useful for installing operating systems, software, or booting from recovery discs without needing a physical CD/DVD drive.
Preparing ISO Files:
- Create a folder named
_ISO(case-sensitive) in the root directory of your installed hard drive within the ZM-VE350. - Place your ISO image files into this
_ISOcartella.
Selecting and Mounting ISO Files:
- Use the jog dial/button on the side of the ZM-VE350 to navigate through the list of ISO files displayed on the enclosure's screen.
- Press the jog dial/button to select and mount the desired ISO file. The enclosure will then present itself to the computer as a virtual CD/DVD drive containing the selected ISO.
- To unmount an ISO, select the 'Unmount' option from the menu or select another ISO.
6. One-Touch Backup and Safe Removal
The ZM-VE350 features a multi-function button for backup and safe power off.

- To use this feature, you must first configure a backup destination folder on your computer or within the ZM-VE350's internal drive (refer to the quick guide for software setup, if applicable).
- Press the 'Backup' button once to initiate the automatic copying of files to the pre-selected folder.

- To safely power off the ZM-VE350 and prepare it for disconnection, press and hold the 'Backup' button for more than 3 seconds.
- This action will safely shut down the internal hard drive, preventing data corruption before physical removal from the computer.
7. Cura e manutenzione
- Keep the ZM-VE350 in a clean, dry environment. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Use the provided leather pouch for additional protection during transport and storage to prevent scratches and minor impacts.

9. Risoluzione Dei Problemi
- Dispositivo non rilevato: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the ZM-VE350 and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable. Verify the internal HDD/SSD is properly seated in the SATA connector.
