1. Introduzione

The Clear Com CS-702 is a 2-channel portable headset main station designed for professional intercom systems. It serves as a central unit for communication, providing clear and reliable audio in various environments. This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your CS-702 unit.

The Clear-Com system is a closed-circuit intercom designed for high-clarity communication. A basic system comprises a power supply or main station, such as the CS-702, connected to various remote stations like beltpacks and loudspeaker stations. Clear-Com units are compatible with each other and can interface with other communication systems.

  • Sidetone A / Sidetone B: Small rotary controls to adjust the sidetone level for each channel, allowing the operator to hear their own voice in the headset.
  • Remote Mic Kill: Button to remotely disable microphones on connected stations (if supported).
  • Program Volume: Rotary knob to adjust the overall volume of the program audio.
  • Ch. A / Ch. B Indicators: LEDs that illuminate to indicate activity or call signals on Channel A or B.
  • D.C. Short Indicator: LED that illuminates to indicate a direct current short circuit on the intercom line.

4. Impostazione

  1. Collegamento elettrico: Connect the CS-702 to a suitable power source using the provided power cable.
  2. Intercom Line Connection: Connect the CS-702 to your Clear-Com intercom system using standard intercom cabling. Ensure proper polarity and secure connections.
  3. Remote Station Connection: Connect beltpacks, speaker stations, or other remote units to the CS-702's intercom lines. The CS-702 supports up to 40 beltpacks or 7 speaker stations across its two channels.

5. Istruzioni per l'uso

5.1. Monitoring Intercom Activity

Regolare il Channel A Volume E Channel B Volume knobs to set the desired listening level for each channel through your headset or external earphone. The station can monitor activity on one or both channels simultaneously.

5.2. Talking on Channels

To speak on a channel, press the corresponding Parlare button (Channel A or Channel B). The CS-702 features a microphone preamplifier with a limiter and speech-shaping circuits for clear audio transmission.

  • Momentary Talk: Press and release the Talk button quickly to speak momentarily.
  • Latching Talk: Press and hold the Talk button for approximately one second until it latches. The button will illuminate dimly to indicate it is latched. Press again to unlatch.

5.3. Signaling Other Stations

To send a call signal to all stations on a specific channel, press the corresponding Chiamata button (Channel A or Channel B). When a remote station sends a call signal, the CS-702's associated Talk button will illuminate brightly, attracting the operator's attention.

5.4. Program Audio Integration

If program audio is connected, use the Volume del programma knob to adjust its overall level. The Pg switch allows you to control how program audio interacts with intercom communication:

  • Spento: Program audio is disabled.
  • Intrpt (Interrupt): Program audio is present but will be attenuated or muted when an operator speaks on the intercom.

IL Pgm Feed Level control adjusts the level of the program audio being fed into the intercom channels.

5.5. Party Line Linking

Premere il tasto Party Line Link button to combine Channel A and Channel B into a single operational channel. This allows all users on both channels to communicate as if they were on one unified channel.

5.6. Sidetone Adjustment

Regolare il Sidetone A E Sidetone B controls to set the level at which you hear your own voice in your headset when speaking on Channel A or B, respectively. This helps in natural conversation flow.

5.7. Remote Mic Kill

IL Remote Mic Kill button, if supported by connected remote stations, can be used to remotely disable microphones on those stations. This is useful for managing audio in complex setups.

6. Manutenzione

  • Pulizia: Utilizzare un panno morbido e asciutto per pulire l'esterno dell'unità. Evitare detergenti abrasivi o solventi.

7. Risoluzione Dei Problemi

  • Nessun audio:
    • Check all cable connections (power, intercom lines, headset).
    • Ensure volume controls are turned up.
    • Verify the headset is functioning correctly.
  • Cannot Talk on a Channel:
    • Ensure the Talk button is pressed or latched.

  • D.C. Short Indicator On:
    • This indicates a short circuit on the intercom line. Disconnect remote stations one by one to identify the faulty unit or cable. The CS-702 has automatic short-circuit protection and reset.

    • Verify that remote stations are properly connected and configured to receive call signals.
