2.4 Posizionamento ottimale
After initial setup, relocate the RE780X to a location between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. The ideal location is where the Signal LED is solid blue, indicating a strong connection to your router. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other sources of interference.
3. Operating the RE780X
3.1 Comprensione degli indicatori LED
- LED di potenza: Solid Blue (On), Off (Off).
- LED di segnalazione:
- Solid Blue: Good connection to the router.
- Solid Red: Poor connection to the router (relocate the extender).
- Off: No connection to the router.
- LED WPS: Flashing (WPS pairing in progress), Solid Blue (WPS successful).
3.2 Funzionamento a doppia banda
The RE780X operates on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands. The 2.4GHz band offers wider coverage, while the 5GHz band provides faster speeds for devices closer to the extender. Your devices will automatically connect to the optimal band, or you can manually select them if your router broadcasts separate SSIDs for each band.
3.3 Modalità punto di accesso
You can use the RE780X as an access point to create a new Wi-Fi network from a wired Ethernet connection. This is useful for extending a wired network with Wi-Fi capabilities.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your main router (or an Ethernet wall port) to the Gigabit Ethernet port on the RE780X.
- Configure the RE780X to Access Point mode via the TP-Link Tether app or web interfaccia.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
4. Manutenzione
4.1 Aggiornamenti firmware
Regularly check for and install firmware updates to ensure optimal performance, security, and access to new features. Firmware updates can typically be performed through the TP-Link Tether app or the web interfaccia di gestione.
4.2 Pulizia
To clean the device, unplug it from the power outlet. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol sprays.
5. Risoluzione Dei Problemi
5.1 Nessun accesso a Internet dopo l'installazione
- Ensure the Signal LED on the RE780X is solid blue. If it's red or off, relocate the extender closer to your main router.
- Verifica che il tuo router principale abbia una connessione Internet attiva.
- Restart both your router and the RE780X.
5.2 Slow Speeds on Extended Network
- Ensure the RE780X is placed in an optimal location (solid blue Signal LED).
- Verificare la presenza di interferenze da altri dispositivi elettronici.
- Verifica che il tuo router principale fornisca una velocità adeguata.
- If using OneMesh, be aware that wireless connections between extender and router might halve speed compared to a wired access point setup.
5.3 Cannot Connect to the Extended Network
- Verify the Wi-Fi password for the extended network.
- Ensure the RE780X is powered on and the Signal LED is active.
- Try resetting the RE780X to factory defaults (press the Reset button with a pin for 5 seconds) and reconfigure it.
